Look, we get it - nobody actually reads these things. But since we're lawyers who deal with digital assets and corporate stuff all day, we figured we should be straight with you about how we handle your information.

At Mythral Ionverse Legal, we take your privacy seriously. Like, really seriously. When you're trusting us with sensitive business info, cryptocurrency portfolios, or corporate restructuring plans, the last thing you need is to worry about your data ending up somewhere it shouldn't.

This policy covers what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've tried to keep the legal jargon to a minimum, but hey - we're still lawyers, so there's gonna be some.

Personal Information

When you reach out to us or become a client, we'll collect stuff like:

  • Your name, email address, phone number - the basics
  • Business details (company name, position, industry)
  • Billing and payment information
  • Government-issued ID for client verification (we gotta follow the rules)
  • Any documents you share with us for legal matters
Technical Data

Our website collects some tech info automatically:

  • IP addresses and browser types
  • Device information
  • Pages you visit and how long you hang around
  • Referral sources (how you found us)
Communications

We keep records of our conversations - emails, phone calls, meeting notes. It's not being nosy, it's covering both our backs and making sure we don't miss important details about your case.

We're not in the business of selling your data or spamming you with random stuff. Here's what we actually do with your information:

Providing Legal Services

Obviously, this is the main thing. We need your info to represent you, draft documents, handle your cases, and give you solid legal advice.

Client Communication

Keeping you in the loop about your matters, sending updates, responding to questions - you know, actually being responsive lawyers.

Billing & Payments

Processing invoices, tracking payments, handling refunds if needed. The not-so-fun but necessary stuff.

Legal Compliance

Meeting our professional obligations, following Canadian law, and keeping up with regulatory requirements. We're particularly strict about this given our work in digital asset regulation.

Improving Our Services

Analyzing how clients use our site, figuring out what works and what doesn't, and making things better over time.

We're pretty protective of your information, but there are some situations where we need to share it:

Service Providers

Cloud storage, payment processors, document management systems - the tools we use to run our practice. They're all vetted and bound by strict confidentiality agreements.

Legal Obligations

If we get a court order, subpoena, or other legal requirement to disclose information, we'll comply. We'll let you know when we can, but sometimes we're legally prevented from doing so.

With Your Consent

If you ask us to share your info with someone (like another lawyer, accountant, or business partner), we'll do that. Pretty straightforward.

Professional Advisors

Sometimes we need to consult with other professionals - think expert witnesses, co-counsel, or specialized consultants. They're bound by the same confidentiality standards we are.

What we DON'T do: Sell your data to third parties, share it with marketers, or use it for anything outside of providing you legal services. That's not our game.

Given that we deal with corporate secrets, digital asset portfolios, and sensitive M&A info, security isn't just important - it's absolutely critical. Here's what we do:

Encryption

End-to-end encryption for data transmission and storage. Your stuff is scrambled into gibberish for anyone who shouldn't see it.

Access Controls

Limited access based on need-to-know. Not everyone in our office can see everything.

Secure Servers

Canadian-based servers with regular security audits and backups. Your data stays in Canada under Canadian law.

Staff Training

Regular security training for our team. Everyone knows the protocols and takes them seriously.

That said, no system is 100% bulletproof. We do everything we can to keep your info secure, but if there's ever a breach, we'll let you know right away and work with you to handle it.

Yeah, we use cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind (though we've got those in the office kitchen). These are the digital kind that help our website work better.

Types of Cookies We Use:
Cookie Type Purpose Can You Opt Out?
Essential Cookies Make the site actually work - login sessions, security features, basic functionality Nope, these are necessary
Analytics Cookies Tell us how people use the site so we can improve it Yes, through your browser settings
Preference Cookies Remember your settings and choices Yes, but you'll lose saved preferences

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but fair warning - some parts of the site might not work as smoothly.

Under Canadian privacy laws (particularly PIPEDA), you've got some solid rights when it comes to your personal information:

Access

You can ask to see what personal information we have about you. We'll provide it within 30 days.

Correction

If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.

Deletion

You can request deletion of your data, but we might need to keep some stuff for legal or regulatory reasons.

Portability

Want your data in a format you can use elsewhere? We can do that.

Withdraw Consent

Changed your mind about something? You can withdraw consent for certain uses of your data.

Complain

If you think we're mishandling your info, you can file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise any of these rights, just shoot us an email at contact@mythralionversex.info. We'll verify your identity and get things rolling.

We don't keep your information forever (though sometimes it feels like client files pile up that way). Here's the breakdown:

  • Active client files: As long as we're representing you, plus the applicable limitation period for legal claims
  • Closed matters: Typically 7-10 years after the matter closes (Law Society of Ontario requirements)
  • Financial records: 7 years minimum (CRA requirements)
  • Marketing communications: Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete
  • Website analytics: 26 months, then anonymized

Once the retention period's up, we securely delete or destroy the information. For digital asset matters specifically, we're extra careful about proper data destruction.

Our services aren't directed at kids under 18. If you're under 18 and stumbled onto this site, cool - but we're not collecting your personal information.

If we find out we've accidentally collected info from someone under 18, we'll delete it pronto. Parents or guardians who discover their kid's info ended up with us should reach out immediately.

We're based in Toronto, and we try to keep your data in Canada. That said, some of our service providers might have servers or operations outside Canada.

When we do transfer data internationally, we make sure there are appropriate safeguards in place - things like standard contractual clauses, Privacy Shield certification (where applicable), or other legal mechanisms.

If you're outside Canada and using our services, you're agreeing to have your info processed under Canadian privacy laws. Different countries have different standards, and we can't guarantee the same level of protection everywhere.
