Who We Really Are

Look, we're not gonna hit you with the usual law firm speech about "excellence" and "integrity." That stuff's expected, right? What makes us different is we actually get how the world's changing.

Back in 2016, we saw something most firms weren't paying attention to - digital assets weren't just some tech fad. Blockchain, crypto, NFTs... these weren't buzzwords to us. They were the future knocking on the door, and frankly, nobody in traditional corporate law seemed ready to answer.

So yeah, we started Mythral Ionverse Legal because someone had to bridge that gap. We're lawyers who understand both the boardroom and the blockchain. And honestly? That combo's pretty rare in Toronto.

How We Got Here

2016

The Beginning

Started with three partners and one mission - bring corporate law into the digital age. Our first client? A blockchain startup that every other firm turned away because they "didn't understand the space." We took the time to learn.

2018

Growing Pains

Expanded to 12 attorneys. Handled our first major M&A involving cryptocurrency holdings - something that made headlines because, well, nobody'd really figured out how to structure it properly before. We did.

2020

Pandemic Pivot

COVID hit, but we'd already been running half our practice digitally anyway. While other firms scrambled, we actually grew. Helped over 200 businesses navigate remote operations, digital contracts, and virtual compliance. Remote work? We were already there.

2022

Recognition

Named one of Canada's top 10 tech-forward law firms by Legal Tech Review. Got invited to consult on federal cryptocurrency regulation proposals. That felt pretty good, not gonna lie.

2025

Today & Tomorrow

Now we're 25 strong with clients across North America. We've handled everything from traditional corporate structures to DAO formations, from standard IP to NFT licensing. And yeah, we're still learning every single day because this field never stops evolving.

Former software developer who went to law school because he saw the legal mess coming in crypto. Now he's the guy regulators call when they're confused. Runs a node from his home office and will talk your ear off about smart contracts.

Joined us in 2019 after 15 years in commercial litigation. Thought crypto cases would be boring until he handled his first smart contract dispute. Now he's hooked. Former varsity rugby player, still competitive as hell in the courtroom.

Made partner in 2021 by basically becoming our go-to person for regulatory nightmares. Has this weird ability to translate government-speak into actual English. Passionate about making compliance less painful - which is saying something.

Our youngest partner at 34, but he's helped launch over 150 startups already. Gets genuinely excited about articles of incorporation, which we find both endearing and slightly concerning. Huge fan of obscure board games.
